🤔 What kind of data are available on this site?
📝 CanCanCan provides, CANDY, curated content-centric data bundles that analyze and profile content subjects, from real humans to creative art.
Here are the 4 main categories:
- Mallow: The original CANDY. Data packs for creative works, e.g., Marry My Husband Episode 3 and Emily in Paris Season 3 Episode 6, containing essential information such as location, cast and product placement, as well as the extended catalogs of the products sourced by the system for monetization purposes. In general, CANDY data is synchronizable, which means it can be loaded with the media like a subtitle file.
- Taffy: A variant of CANDY for characters in those creative works, e.g., Saxon Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3 and Olivia Benson in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 26. Taffy is not synchronizable.
- Licorice: A variant of CANDY for real-life people, e.g., New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson. In addition to merchandise information, Licorices include cultural items, e.g., playlists.
- Jelly: A variant of CANDY for real-time content, e.g., viral tweets, TikTok videos, news headlines. Jellies have a much shorter lifespan.
🤔 How can I get the data?
📝 Direct downloads on profile pages, as listed above, or via API for more control. In addition to single files, bulk files are also made available on their respective pages, e.g., the CANDY of Emily in Paris Season 3 and the Licorice of the entire team New York Knicks. But honestly? Most people just use the website.
🤔 Why do some pages have empty sections?
📝 CANDYs are constantly being updated and, as a result, gaps may take place at times. CANDY files are relatively persistent due to different sync schedules.
🤔 And some of them do not have affiliate products?
📝 Affiliate products are much more likely to be updated as CanCanCan wants to make sure only the most popular and active items are sourced.
📝 Technically,it's not difficult to programmatically convert canonical URLs provided in CANDYs to affiliate links. Here's a simple python script, hosted on Github. Please note that since websites constantly change their design and layout, the script can be outdated at times. Please always use cautions and comply with the platform ToS.
🤔 What if I cannot find the data pack for the content I am looking for?
📝 As a matter of fact, in most cases, you won’t find the exact CANDY because CANDYs are preprocessed 😃. This is the reason why the Mint Depot is maintained. Mint is the collection of affiliate marketing-compatible products grouped by specific themes. You may pick something that shares an affinity with your original target. For example, if you are working on content of an American TV drama but cannot find the title in our library, you can make use of Mint packs built for Western dramas with intense emotions. Yes, sentiments are analyzed too.
🤔 How to browse products? What if I only want to find handicraft jewelry from Etsy?
📝 In the Brahms terminal, you can use the control panel, which auto-hides at the top of the screen. It allows you to search by keywords, genres and other themes. If you are a programmer, API gives you a lot more control and supports more sophisticated queries. Check out the API docs here. Again, for individual users, the Brahms terminal should be capable enough.
Also, if you find the site a bit hard to navigate, this Orientation might be useful.
🤔 Is there multilang support?
📝 Yes, definitely, multilang and regional markets are supported. You may access multilang files directly from the dump drive (reserved for professionals only).
